Pengaruh Ekstrak Daun Puguntano (Picria Fel-Terrae Merr.) terhadap Histomorfometri Hati Pada Tikus Wistar (Rattus Norvegicus) Model Obesitas dengan Benign Prostat Hyperplasia

Abstract

Poguntano leaf extract has bioactive compounds, such as flavonoids, that can reduce the level of liver damage. The flavonoids protects cell from oxidative damage which the oxidative stress cause liver cell damage and cell death in the liver. The mechanism of flavonoids as antioxidant is by capturing free radicals directly. The research aims to determine the effect of poguntano leaf extract in Liver histomorphometry of the obese rats with benign prostatic hyperplasia. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments each of which consisted of 4 replications. The treatments consisted of negative control (normal mice), positive control (testosterone injection); the treatment of the testosterone + finasteride 1 mg/kgBW administration, the next treatment was given testosterone + poguntano 100 mg/kgBW, and the last treatment was given a testosterone + puguntano 200 mg/kgBW. The histology of the liver was made using the paraffin method with Hematoxylin-Eosin (HE) staining. The results of the reseach showed the extract treatment poguntano leaves at a dose of 200 mg/KgBB repaired liver damage by reducing the parenchymatous degeneration, the hydropic, and the necrosis as an impact of the obesity with benign prostatic hyperplasia in rats.
