Analisis Perkembangan Kepariwisataan Kawasan Danau Toba Provinsi Sumatera Utara untuk Pengembangan Wilayah

Abstract

The present study intends to know the development of Lake Toba tourism through a research of the effect of 6 (six) independent variables; tourism objects, road, hotel, restaurant, transportation and promotion on 3 (three) dependent variable; natural environment, socio-economic life and the effect of natural environment, socio-economic life on the regional development. Based on the analysis made, in fact, that the variables of tourism objects, road and transportation partially have positive and significant effect on preservation of the environment and socio-economic life of Lake Toba Community. Furthermore, the variable of social life has positive and significant effect on regional development with the coefficient larger than that of natural environment and economic life. Considering the matters, for regional development of Lake Toba, improvement of social life of those community who lived in Lake Toba Area is required. The effort of improvement can be reached if the community plays an active role in improving the tourism development of the Lake Toba Area because of the tourism sector allows a large probability for improvement of the community welfare of the Lake Toba Area.
