    Abstract
    Agricultural potential in the District of patchouli plants Tripe Jaya, Gayo Lues Regency in 2009 has an area of 104 hectares of business. Within the framework of the achievement of development targets should be adjusted so that the potential will be obtained pre-eminent economic sector or regional basis. To find patchouli plantation sub-sector as the commodity Tripe Jaya district needed a useful method for assessing and projecting economic growth of plantation management wilayah. In the factors that determines the results of production are capital, land and labor. This study discusses the role of agricultural development to the development of patchouli plants Tripe Jaya subdistrict, Regency Gayo Lues. This study aims to analyze the role of patchouli plant as commodity Tripe Jaya District, Gayo Lues Regency and analyze what production factors that influence crop production in Sub Tripe Jaya patchouli, Gayo Lues Regency. Research methods in this study using the analysis of location quotient (LQ) and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the calculated analysis of the role of patchouli plant as agricultural commodities in the agricultural district of Tripe Jaya Regency Gayo Lues during the period 2007-2009 obtained by the method of LQ LQ mean value of 1.1630 results suggest that the patchouli plant acts as a plantation sector in the sub base Tripe Jaya district that has the potential of the economy Tripe Jaya sub-district and district Gayo Lues. Factors simultaneously land, capital, labor, and the outpouring of work time significantly influenced the production of patchouli plants. Partial factors have a significant land area. Factors labor and the outpouring of work time and no significant positive effect on crop production patchouli. Capital factors and no significant negative impact on crop production patchouli.
