Pengaruh Pengetahuan dan Motivasi tentang Keselamatan terhadap Kecelakaan Kerja dengan Kepatuhan Kerja sebagai Variabel Intervening pada PT Wijaya Karya proyek Divisi 1

Abstract

Construction industry has the highest rates of accident, injury and death among all industries. Occupational accident rate is in fact very essential to reduce the cost incurred by an organization/company. The factors which influence occupational accident are knowledge of and motivation for safety and work adherence. The objective of the research was to discover the influence of knowledge and motivation on occupational accident. This is a descriptive research with causal design. The sample consisted of 100 employees of Project Division 1 at PT. WIKA. The data were analyzed by using Partial Least Square Structural Model. The results of the research demonstrated: that knowledge of and motivation for safety had a positive and significant influence on adherence to occupational safety. Adherence to occupational safety had a positive and significant influence on occupational accident. Knowledge of safety has an insignificant influence on occupational accident. It had a positive and significant influence on occupational accident through occupational adherence. Motivation for safety had a positive and significant influence on occupational accident through occupational adherence.
