Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) is a type of betacoronavirus that causes Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19). The transmission of the virus occurs between mammals and humans, which the symptoms from beginning of the infections in the respiratory tract vary from the mild category to the critical categories. The transmission of this virus occurs very quickly and spread throughout the world, and it needs effective prevention by vaccinating the community. The Sinovac vaccine is one types of vaccine whose distribution had been most received by the Indonesian compared to the other vaccines. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the vaccine on the Ct (Cycle threshold) value of COVID-19 of the positive volunteers between those who had been vaccinated and unvaccinated. This study was conducted by taking mass swab samples of the people of North Sumatra at the Center for Environmental Health-Engineering Disease Control, Medan as many as 100 samples. The virus examination was carried out using the Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) method at the Microbiology Laboratory, Faculty of Medicine, University of North Sumatra. The vaccine data were confirmed on 15 volunteers according to categories (5 samples vaccinated with first dose of the Sinovac vaccine, 5 samples had been vaccinated by Sinovac second dose, and there were 5 samples unvaccinated. The data were analyzed using a Chi-Square statistical test with a value of p<0.05. The results of the study obtained there was a significant difference between samples which who had complete vaccination and non-vaccination. The conclusion of this study was the Ct value of volunteers giving vaccine were higher than unvaccinated.en_US
