The Companies operating in mass media field have to be able to compete in
accordance with job aspects required by their employees and with behavior aspect describing
ones’ view and attitude toward their job. Companies desire adequate and sustainable profit
to enable them to compete and to produce best performance. Employee performance is the
performace or achievement that employees demonstrate. This research presented the
performance of PT Harian Tribun Medan from behavior aspect in every department that
obtained mean of performance score of 1.61, categorized into unacceptable by KPI (Key
Performance Indicator), and mean of performance score from job aspect i.e. 1.61-2.50,
categorized into required for improvement by KPI. The research problems were wether job
aspect and behavior aspect partially and simultaneously influenced employee performance in
PT Harian Tribun Medan. The competition in daily newspaper wither the printed or online
ones has become more competitive, companies have to possess job aspect that can improve
their performance and in line with behavior aspect that can enhance human resources. The
samples consisted of 73 people who were selected by applying census (saturated sampling
technique). Multiple regression analysis was employed as the data analysis method. The
results demonstrated that partially and simultaneously job aspect and behavior aspect had
positive and significant influence with job aspect as the more dominant variable that
influenced the employee performance in PT Harian Tribun Medan.
