dc.description.abstractUnemployment is one of the problems that arise in the development process or the development of a country. The increase in unemployment becomes an obstacle to the development and development of a country which will cause several problems in the social and economic fields. One of the factors that influence the unemployment rate, one of which is high population growth, economic performance, the human development index and the role of the government, especially in minimum wage policies. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of population and human development index on the open unemployment rate in the city of Tebing Tinggi. The method used in this final project is multiple linear regression method and using SPSS 22 software. What we can get from this research is that Fcount Ftable and it can be concluded that H0 is rejected, stating that there is a significant relationship between population and human development index. to the partial open unemployment rate. It is also found that the coefficient of determination of 0.88 or 88%, the unemployment rate is influenced by the population and the human development index, while the rest is influenced by other factors.en_US
