This study aims to determine the effect of gadgets on student interest in learning at
SMP Putri Cahaya Medan. The research method used is the quantitative method. The
population sampling technique used is 8th grade students. The data collection
technique used by the author is a questionnaire or questionnaire, while the data
analysis technique used in this study is simple linear regression. Based on the results
of the study, the t count was 0.350 while the t table value was at a significant level of
5% with N = 50, the t table value was 1.6772. Then the gadget variable has a
significance level of 0.350 <0.05, which means it is not significant. So the value of t
arithmetic is 0.350 < 1.6772, so H0 is rejected and HA is accepted. So it can be
concluded that there is no significant effect on interest in learning. The results of the R
square test found that the gadget has an effect of 1.8%. This proves that the influence
of gadgets on interest in learning the remaining 98.2% is influenced by other variables.
The simple linear regression equation model of interest in learning is influenced by
gadgets is Y= 15.954 + 0.093X, which means that if the influence of the gadget variable
increases by one unit, the influence of the variable interest in learning increases by
0.093.
