Breeding beef cattle is a sideline majority of people in Langkat. Beef cattle
breeder has a profile that is not the same as others. Profile breeders divided into
age, level of education, experience and otal dependents. Socioeconomic breeders
include scale and cost of production. To determine the effect of the income profile
of beef cattle farmers is necessary to do a survey in Langkat. This study was
carried on in Langkat North Sumatra province from July to September 2014. This
study used a survey method to maintain the family unit respondents cattle.
Samples were obtained through the method of proportional stratified random
Samplingdan obtained 219 farmers, namely Batang Serangan subdistrict totaled
111 respondents, sub Besitang amounted to 69 respondents, and sub Sirapit
amounted to 369 respondents. Marketing efficiency obtained through interviews
to farmers, pengempul, wholesalers, small traders and end customers regarding
the sale price of beef cattle in each of these actors.
he results showed that the scale and level of the income side of beef cattle
business, while age, education level and number of dependents of experience
raising a family is not significant. Marketing channels in Langkat can diakatan
