dc.description.abstractLUSIYANA WANTI SIHITE, 2014: The utilization of Water Hyacinth Fermentation of Carcass and Non Carcass Local ram sheep weaning. Under supervisied by TRI HESTI WAHYUNI and NEVY DIANA HANAFI. . The research aimed to examine the effect of water hyacinth fermentation with local microorganisms (Rhizopus sp, Saccharomyces sp and Lactobacillus sp) and Trichoderma harzianum against non carcass weight and carcass weight of local ram sheep weaning . The experiment was conducted at the Animal Biology Laboratory Animal Husbandry Program Agricultural Faculty, North Sumatra University in August to November 2013 using 20 local ram sheep weaning with an average initial body weight of 7,87± 2,18 kg. The parameters studied were carcass weight, carcass percentage, fat percentage, non carcass weight and non carcass percentage. The design used in the study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. Treatment consists of P0: concentrate + 100 % grass, P1: concentrate + 40% grass + 60% water hyacinth fermentation MOL, P2: concentrate + 40% grass + 60% water hyacinth fermentation of Trichoderma harzianum, P3: concentrate + 100% water hyacinth fermentation MOL, P4: concentrate + 100% water hyacinth fermentation of Trichoderma harzianum. The results showed the average carcass weight (kg) P0: 3.06, P1:2.93, P2: 3.12, P3: 3.12 and P4: 2,76 respectively. Average percentage of carcass (%) P0: 32.56, P1: 31.22, P2: 31.37, P3: 31.16 and P4: 29,64 respectively. Average subcutaneous fat percentage (%) P0:3.25, P1: 2.75, P2: 2.80, P3: 3.10 and P4: 3,08 respectively. Average pelvic fat percentage (%) P0: 0.18, P1: 0.19, P2: 0.19, P3: 0.20 and P4: 0,24 respectively . Average percentage of kidney fat (%) P0: 0.58, P1: 0.76, P2: 0.62 , P3: 0.61 and P4 : 0,68 respectively. Average non carcass weight (kg) P0: 4.65, P1: 4.31, P2: 4.60, P3: 4.38 and P4: 3,82 respectively. Average non carcass percentage (%) P0: 49.71, P1: 45.92, P2: 46.92, P3: 44.49 and P4: 45,58 respectively. Statistical analysis showed utilization of water hyacinth fermentation with local microorganisms and Trichoderma harzianum no significant effect on carcass weight, carcass percentage, subcutaneous fat percentage, pelvic fat percentage, kidney fat percentage, non carcass weight and non carcass percentage . The conclusion of this study is the utilization of water hyacinth fermentation had no significant effect to increase carcass weight, carcass percentage, subcutaneous fat percentage, pelvic fat percentage, carcass weight and non carcass percentage.en_US
