Identify methods of recording on each livestock serves to
determine the identity of the animal so that the owners can recognize by the
livestock well , especially for the wild released livestocks.
This study aims to Knowing how the recording methods of the wild released
buffaloes were reintroduced in Aceh Tengah district . This study was conducted in
October 2013 - January 2014 , in the city of Takengon, Aceh Tengah district , the
materials needed in the study were reading books as research references, the
breeders and the buffaloes which derived from 3 subdistrict in Aceh Tengah. The
tools that was needed in this study was stationeries to recorded the interview on
camera for breeders as attachments. The methods used in this study was the
survey method . The survey is conducted directly to the farms. The cattle studied
were buffaloes . Identifying livestock was conducted in enclosures area to
facilitate the control of livestock by the breeders .
The results of this study are the recording methods of the buffaloes in the district
in Aceh Tengah were many breeders still did not use the mark on his livestock
consisted of 78 farmers ( 38.4 % ) , and 125 breeders (61,58%) has been used
some different traditional methods to recording their livestocks. The most
common method was wooden necklace by 44 breeders (21,7%), the use of a bell
necklace sign as many as 39 farmers ( 19.2 % ) , the signs of bamboo necklace
consists of 30 farmers ( 14.80 ) and the least use of the recording was the rope
necklace consisting of 12 farmers ( 5.9 % ) . The conclusion of this research was
the result of the survey research was 125 breeders (61,58%) has been used
traditional recording methods to their buffaloes but nearly half of the farnmers
consist of 78 breeders (38,4%) still did not used any recording material to their
buffaloes.
