Pola Sebaran Fitoplankton sebagai Bioindikator Kondisi Lingkungan Perairan di Pantai Cermin Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai

Abstract

Pantai Cermin is a coastal water area that had be exploited for any activities, such asthe tourism object, fish pond, residential and fishing. These activities disturbs the livingof organism in the coastal waster specially phytoplankton as its consequence. The objective of this research was to study the distribution pattern of phytoplankton and environment condition of coastal water of Pantai Cermin, Regency of Serdang Bedagai. This research was conducted on June until July 2013 by purposive random sampling method at two stations with multiple sampling points that representative each region by using GPS to determine the coordinate of the point. The physic and chemical parameters have be measured were temperature, current velocity, brightness, salinity, DO, pH, Nitrate and Phosphate. The Pantai Cermin there are 7 classes of Phytoplankton consisting of 19 families and 19 genera. More of phytoplankton with the higher value found in station I for 1028.71 ind/l, diversity index of phytoplankton relatively unstable 0.880, domination index is lower 0.28 based on the measurement of physic – chemical factors that Sea water quality parameter of water area support the living of phytoplankton. The pattern of distribution in each stations was dominated by genus Coscinodiscus from the class of Bacillariophyceae.
