| dc.description.abstract | There are many problems often found in the fish farming field which can
reduce the productivity. One of those problems is caused by ectoparasites.
Research on identification and prevalence of ectoparasites on carpfish in pond
Pulau Banyak village of Tanjung Pura subdistrict and pond Medan Selayang at
Medan City. Conducted at Quarantine Station, Quality Control, and Safety of
Fishery Product Class I Medan II, Belawan on March to May 2017. Sampling was
carried out one at random as many as 10 carpfish at each location. Samples of
carpfish in part estimated attacked ectoparasites (gills, body mucus,fins mucus,
and eyes mucus) by means of scrapping, and observed under a microscope. The
results showed three types of ectoparasites namely, Dactylogyrus sp., Argulus sp.,
and Oodinium sp. and showed that the prevalence of ectoparasites on Cyprinus
carpio is the highest in the pond Medan Selayang at Medan City is Dactylogyrus
sp., (gill 50%), Argulus sp. (mucus of the body 30% and 10% mucus fin),
Oodinium sp. (mucus fin 30%), whereas in an pond Pulau Banyak Village District
of Tanjung PuraDactylogyrus sp. (gill 30%), Argulus sp. (mucus of the body
20%), Oodinium sp. (mucus fin 10%). In mucus of the eyes in Medan Selayang
pond and Pulau Banyak Village pond no ectoparasite attack was found. | en_US |
