dc.description.abstract | This study aims to formulate a development model for agro-tourism destinations
based on local wisdom in two villages, namely Simamora, and Tipang. The two
villages are located in Bakti Raja District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency. The
target of this research is to develop agro-tourism destinations based on local
wisdom for getting International tourists . This development model, it is hoped,
can help expand tourism development in the two villages in particular and in
Humbang Hasundutan in general. Tourism development in two villages will
improve the welfare of the community. To achieve these goals and targets,
researcher has made an inventory of various elements of traditional agricultural
systems, traditional irrigation systems, and local wisdoms so that these two
elements can be developed to build “tourism awareness”. This study uses
qualitative and quantitaive approaches (or commonly called mixed-methods) to
seek holistic meanings and patterns in the development of agro-tourism
destinations. These two approaches underlie the data collection methods which
include open in-depth interviews, direct participatory observation, focus group
discussions, written documents, and search for accurate data from respondents.
Both approaches were applied with an interactive model developed by Miles and
Huberman. | en_US |
