    Kemandirian Anak Tunagrahita Melalui Pelatihan Keterampilan di SLB-C Taman Pendidikan Islam Medan

    Abstract
    Anak tunagrahita adalah anak yang memiliki IQ dibawah rata-rata, yang mana anak tersebut dalam kesehariannya memerlukan bantuan orang lain untuk sekedar mengurus dirinya atau memiliki kesulitan dalam hal mengurus diri sendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemandirian anak tunagrahita melalui pelatihan keterampilan di SLB-C Taman Pendidikan Islam. Pelatihan keterampilan tersebut berupa keterampilan dasar, sosial dan bina diri. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah delapan orang informan. Informan yang terdiri dari lima informan utama, satu informan kunci dan dua informan tambahan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi pustaka, wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Data yang didapat di lapangan kemudian di analisis oleh peneliti dan dijelaskan secara kualitatif. Hingga akhirnya dapat ditarik kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak tunagrahita yang mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan keterampilan di SLB-C Taman Pendidikan Islam sudah memiliki ciri-ciri kemandirian yaitu rasa percaya diri, bertanggung jawab, mampu menemukan pilihan serta mampu mengendalikan emosi.
     
    Child tunagrahita is a child who has an IQ below average, which the child is in everyday life need the help of others to take care of him or have difficulty in taking care of self. Research to determine the independence of children tunagrahita throught training skills at SLB Taman Islamic Education Medan. Skills training is a skill basic, social and self-development. The method used in this research is research method desricptive with a qualitative approach. This research consists of eight informants. Informant consisting of five key informants, one key informant and two informants. Data collection techniques using literature study, in-depth interviews and observation. Data obtained in the field later in the analysis by the researches and described qualitatively. Until finally the conclusion of the results of the study. The result of the study were shown that the child’s tunagrahita follow the skills training activities in SLB-C Taman Islamic Education Medan already has the characteristics independence is a sense of confidence, responsible, able to find a choice and able to controlling emotions.
