Waste-related issues are serious problems and bring negative effects on many aspects of life. Unsuccessful waste management contributes to several problems such as flooding, climate change, global warming, and environmental illness. The goal of this study is to examine how housewives in Region III Medan City manage domestic waste with 3R principles in order to overcome waste management problems at the household level for housewives. The overall sample size for this analytical survey, which uses a cross-sectional design, is 100 people. Data collected from questionnaires are then analyzed using the analysis methods of univariate, bivariate with Chi-square, and multivariate with multiple logistic regression. The study indicates that 22 people (44%) in the city and 20 people (40%) in the coastal area have a moderate level of knowledge. In terms of attitude, 30 people (60%) in the city and 35 people (70%) in the coastal area are at the moderate level. In terms of practice, on the other hand, 20 people (40%) in the city and 23 people (46%) in the coastal area are both at the moderate level. The result of bivariate analysis reveals that education (0.020), knowledge (p=0.007), and attitude (0.027) statistically had an effect towards 3R implementation carried out by housewives. The multivariate analysis describes that the most dominant variable on waste management with 3R principles performed by housewives is the variable of knowledge with Exp (B) = 4,978. The government of Medan is expected to require all sub-districts to establish a waste management program, including enforcing fines and regulations. To improve community empowerment and waste management, society is also expected to adhere to the regulations and foster a positive relationship with relevant government authorities.
