    Abstract
This paper has a research objective to describe and classify the conflicts experienced by the main characters, namely Farhan Qureshi, Rastogi Raju, and Rancho Shyamaldas, in the film 3 Idiots. This paper also describes how these characters resolve the conflicts in the film. In writing this paper, the author uses a qualitative descriptive method. The writer watches this film as a whole, then reads and understands the dialogue and identifies the dialogue as internal and external conflict. After that, the writer describes the data and draws conclusions. The data source for this piece is from the movie 3 Idiots, and the data is in the form of dialogue between characters. The theory used in analyzing the data is conflict, which was introduced by William Kenney. After analyzing the data using conceptual theory and qualitative methods, it was discovered that each of the main characters in the film Three Idiots has internal and external conflicts. The first character is Rancho. His internal conflict is when he uses the uniform of his employer's child in order to study. While the external conflict occurred when he was caught sneaking into his employer's school and when he was in college, Rancho changed the text of Chatur's speech and he was challenged to prove who was more successful in the next 10 years. The second character is Farhan. Farhan's internal conflict is when Farhan feels jealous and worried because he always gets the lowest rank. Meanwhile, Farhan's external conflict was when Farhan was obsessed with becoming a wildlife photographer, but his wish was not achieved because his father wanted him to become a mechanical engineer. The third character is Raju. Raju's internal conflict is when he does not focus on his studies due to his fear of his future. Meanwhile, Raju's external conflict is feeling burdened by his family's condition and when Raju tries to commit suicide because of the pressure he receives.
