    Adsorpsi Arang Aktif Cangkang Kelapa Sawit terhadap Warna dan Asam Lemak Bebas pada Crude Palm Olein

    Abstract
    The method of decreasing free fatty acid (ALB) and reduction color in laboratory is by heating and pressure. However, beside of this method the decreasing of ALB and reduction color in oil can be done by adsorpsi. This research using active charcoal from oil palm shells as an adsorben which had done in the sample of crude palm olein by a variation of the adsorben mass are 0,5 g; 1,0 g; 1,5 g; 2,0 g; dan 2,5 g. The result of this research showing that the greater of the adsorben mass show the higher of % decreasing free faty acid (ALB) and color. The best adsorption in this reserch is weight of adsorben 2,5 gram with the decreasing of free fatty acid 91,82% and reduction of color 45,45%.
     
    Metode penurunan asam lemak bebas (ALB) dan pengurangan warna secara laboratorium adalah dengan cara pemanasan dan tekanan. Namun, selain dengan metode tersebut penurunan ALB dan pengurangan warna pada minyak dapat dilakukan dengan cara adsorpsi. Penelitian ini menggunakan arang aktif dari cangkang kelapa sawit sebagai adsorben pada crude palm olein dengan variasi massa arang aktif adalah 0,5 g; 1,0 g; 1,5 g; 2,0 g; dan 2,5 g. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin besar massa adsorben maka semakin tinggi % penurunan asam lemak bebas (ALB) dan kadar zat warna. Proses adsorpsi terbaik pada penelitian ini terjadi pada massa adsorben 2,5 gram dengan penurunan kadar asam lemak bebas 91,82% dan pengurangan zat warna 45,45%.
