A Description of Nganting Manuk in Karonese Marriage

Abstract

The title of this paper is “description of Nganting manuk in the Karo Batak tradition”. The purpose of this research is to find out the steps and functions of Nganting Manuk.The Method used by the writer in this study is qualitative description. to obtain certain data , The researchers searched and collected several books and journals related to the description of Nganting Manuk. the author also conducted interviews with several people who understood the Nganting Manuk tradition, and then describe it. The steps of Nganting Manuk consist of three main parts, is : the initial procedure the traditional ceremony and the final procedure . there are three functions of Nganting Manuk in this paper, is : 1. Family Gathering ;2. To build family by giving dowry;3. Discuss the marriage schedule.
