dc.description.abstractNOA VIOLEN S. Accumulation of Heavy Metals Cu and Pb on Rhizophora apiculata Stake and Tree Level. Under academic supervision of YUNASFI and BUDI UTOMO. The excessive utilizations of using mangrove cause wastes heavy metals enter mangrove ecosystem. The purposes of the research is to find and compare the content of heavy metals Cu and Pb in roots, leaves and barks of Rhizophora apiculata stake and tree level and to know the ability of Rhizophora apiculata in accumulating heavy metals. Analysis of heavy metals is done in Laboratory Research, the Faculty of Pharmaceuticals, University of North Sumatera using the Atomic Absorbsion Spectrofotometer (AAS) method with two stage that is wet destruction and dry destruction. The results indicate that heavy metals of Cu and Pb in roots, leaves and barks tree level is more bigger than stake level. Based on the Bioconcentration Factor the ability of Rhizophora apiculata in accumulate heavy metals Cu stake and tree level classified high meanwhile the value of BCF Pb classified medium.en_US
