GERLI, 2013: " Morphological Characteristics of Body Size of Murrah Bufallo
and Swamp Bufallo in BPTU Pig ang Bufallo Siborongborong", supervised by
HAMDAN and ARMYN HAKIM DAULAY.
Due to limitations in informations and data of production performances,
their productions have not yet been developed to its potentials. One way to
determine the phenotypic diversity of buffaloes is with morphometric observations
on each type of buffalo in Indonesia. Morphometric identification can be done by
comparing the size and shape of the body. This study aimed to obtain information
related phenotypic morphometric characters body Murrah buffalo and swamp
buffalo by Principal Component Analysis. The study involved 68 swamp buffalo (7
males, 61 females) and 32 Murrah buffaloes (5 males, 27 females) in July September 2012 used a survey method. Identifier the size of the breeds are
shoulder height and chest width as the identifier form. The crowd data on Murrah
buffalo and swamp buffalo are mutually exclusive, which means that the diversity
of different morphometric breeds buffalo.
