dc.description.abstract | Purwo Siswoyo, 2009. Utilization of weed chromolaena (Chromolaena
odorata) in feed toward the performance of weaning local male sheep under
supervision of prof. dr. ir. Zulfikar siregar, mp, as supervisor and mr.hamdan, spt,
msi, as co supervisor.
The research was held in livestock biology laboratory of animal science
department of agriculture faculty of North Sumatera Utara University. This
research was done for three months, since September 2008 until November 2008.
The purpose of this is ti find out and to learn the weed chromolaena odorata usage
level of feed toward the feed consumption, body weight gain and feed converttion
toward weaning local male sheep average weight. This research used local male
sheep with average body weight 15,65+ 1,6 Kg.
The research method was completely randomized design (CRD) which
was consist of four treatment and five replication those were p0, without weed
chromolaena odorata, p1 using weed chromolaena odorata for 15 percent, p2
using weed chromolaena odorata for 30 percent, p3 using weed chromolaena
odorata 45 percent. The result show that the consumption
(517,61;555,36;535,08;534,27 g/h/day respectively). The body weigh gain about
(63,33;87,11;83,20 and 80,45 g/h/day respectively). Feed convertion
(8,09;7,03;9.06 and 8,20 g/h/day respectively). The result of this research show
that p0, p1, p2, and p3, were no significantly differences (p˃0.05) in feed
consumption, average daily gain and feed convention ratio.
Based on this research it was concluded that the chromolaena odorata can
be used for weaning local sheep feed until level 45 percent. | en_US |
