| dc.description.abstract | This thesis aims is to determine and describe meaning based on theory pioneered
by Charles Sanders Peirce. This is descriptive qualitative research method based
on Cresswell’s theory. There are five steps in analyzing data, (1) collecting the
data; (2) categorizing the data; (3) labelling the data with code; (4) chronology of
the data; (5) analyzing the data. Data source of the research is the trailer of the
movie of the Avengers: Infinity War and End Game which is gained from YouTube
account of Marvel Entertainment which is downloaded via savefromnet.com and
collected using document studies. This research include visual and verbal data
using semiotic signs, qualisign, sinsign, legisign, icon, index,symbol rheme,
decisign and argument elements. Visual data are generally found in finction
movie.The research results indicate that there are (55) data that can be analyzed.
Visual data consists of (45)data, while verbal data consist of (10) data. One data
can consist of several semiotic elements. There are (29) Qualisign Semiotic
elements, (1) sinsign (2) legisign, (22) icons, (3) indexes, (18) symbols. There are
37 element semiotics rheme, decisign, argument is contained in analyzed data. In
this case qualisign element is more dominant which proves that the trailer has
