Tinjauan Kehidupan Sosial Ekonomi Masyarakat Hunian Tetap Desa Berastepu di Hamparan Desa Gajah Kecamatan Simpang Empat Kabupaten Karo

Abstract

Disaster eruption of Mount Sinabung occurred since 2010 and lasted until today. Disasters that occur have a huge impact on the life of the red zone community, especially for the people of Berastepu village. The impact felt by the people is not only material and non-material losses but the community must leave the old village. Disasters that occur have an impact on the socio-economic life of Berastepu villagers. Berastepu villagers must be evacuated and relocated to safer areas. One of the areas of residential relocation remains Berastepu village is located in a stretch of Gajah village. This research was conducted in the village of Gajah village Simpang Empat Karo district. This research uses qualitative approach by using descriptive method. This study aims to find out how the picture of socio-economic life of society post-relocation. Informants taken using purposive sampling technique with the number of one key informant and six main informant. Technique of data collecting done by direct observation and depth interview with informant. Based on the data that has been collected and analyzed it can be concluded that the socio-economic life of Berastepu Village community is decreasing. This can be seen from the conditions of employment, education, income, health and housing of people who have changed from the situation before the community can not be replanted because the land is in the red zone of Mount Sinabug.
