dc.description.abstractMUHAMMEDI . Mapping the potential distribution of Gambier’s plant ( Uncaria gambier ROXB) In Pangkalan sub-district, Lima Puluh Kota district. Supervised by Siti Latifah and Yunus Afifuddin. Gambier’s commodity is the sap extracted from the leaves and twigs of the gambier’s plant (Uncaria gambier ROXB) were included in the Rubiceae family (coffee’s family). Gambier’s commodity used as pharmaceutical raw materials, cosmetics, foods and textiles. One of gambir’s commodity producer is located in Pangkalan sub-district, Lima Puluh Kota district. The purpose of this research is to analyze the distribution of the gambier’s plants in various topography, soil type, rainfall intensity and also to analyze the prospect of gambier’s production development in Pangkalan sub-district. The results shown that the best place for gambier’s plant to grow is at 312.94 mm/month rainfall with a rather steep topography (15% - 25%) to steep (25% - 40%) and on the type of soil Dystropepts, Haplohumults, Hapludox, Humitropepts. The production of gambier’s still categorized as low, so we need to increase production activities and quality of gambier’s product .en_US
