Potensi Konflik Laten antara Penganut Aliran Kristiani Gereja “Konvensional” dengan Gereja “Kharismatik” (Studi pada gereja HKBP dengan GBI di kota Kabanjahe Kabupaten Karo)

Abstract

Religion is a social reality that can’t be avoided by anyone, whether in modern societies and in traditional societies. As a system of belief and worship system, religion plays an important role in creating a just order and civilized life for all people in the world. Religion also makes the norm as a frame of reference in order to act and behave in accordance with their religion. The emergence of charismatic churches brings differences to the churches in Kabanjahe city. This difference can be seen in the more developed to follow times and have started to leave the customs, besides other issue in a pulling in religious community of the charismatic church to become religious charismatic community. The method used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative approach. Data collection techniques is done by observation, interview and literature study as for the unit of analysis and informant in this research were preacher, the church elders, deacons and the religious community of HKBP and GBI Rg. Mart Kabanjahe church as key informant who know the condition of the relationship of religious community and the formulation of the problem in this research. Interpretation of the data is done with the processing of records and interviews every time down to the field. The result showed that the interaction between the religious community charismatic church with religious community HKBP are still not good because nothing a desires from a religious community to build relationship as well as some a religious community make a restrictionsin dealing with other a religious community. Spiritual activities conducted two churches have very different purposes such as the purposes of GBI church to invite and to attract of religious community to become a religious community of GBI, and the existence of some differences about system worship or doctrine of religion in the church so that make prejudice to both the church congregation. The church of GBI to prioritize personal experience than education of religion although the church of HKBP to prioritize education of religion.
