Faktor-Faktor Penyebab Wisatawan Memilih Daerah Kunjunan Wisata di Prapat dan Tuktuk Siadong

Abstract

Lake Toba is one of the attractions found in the province of North Sumatra. Parapat and Tuktuk Siadong are two tourist destination located in Lake Toba. The development of tourist areas affect the level of tourist visits, both domestic and foreign tourists. The purpose of this study is to determine what factors are the cause of tourists choose the tourist area to be visited. The type of research used in this research is descriptive quantitative research. The number of samples used in this study were 100 respondents. Methods of data collection is through observation, questionnaires, and literature study. To analyze the data, the rational choice theory is used. The results of the study indicate that before deciding to visit the tourist area, the tourists will collect information related to the tourist area, either through the nearest person, or from mass media or social media. Therefore, the government and the local community should pay more attention to factors in tourism development.
