    Abstract
    Background: More than half of the patients expressed the fear they experienced discomfort when facing bronchoscopy, whereas 40-60% found the proce<lure unpleasant and intolerable. Premedication with sedatives and analgesics are considered to he useful in improving patient satisfaction and reduce the discomtbrt associated with the procedure. Among the benzodiazepines, midazolam has become the drug of choice because of thc short half.liib (2 houn) and hasten the onset of action. Objective: To compare the level of comfort patients who per{brmed the procedure bsol in the field of human rights IDT Hospital by administering midazolam premedication with diazepam in lrrtra Muscular. . Methods: We took a sarnple of 60 pasisen based on inclusion and exclusion criteria from October 2013 to Februar y 2012. A total of 30 patients were given midazolam premedication with IM and 30 patients were given diazepam IM. And every patient assessment and assessment of the amount of cough VAS. At the end of bronchoscopy each patient was given a questionnaire to be answered by each nalienl. Rcsult: Most of the sample consisted of males (n * 50; 83.3%), with age > 54 years (n = 33', 55%'), with a VAS score > 3.8 (n = 3l; 51.7%), the number of cough 8 (n = 19;11.7%), with long action 4-5 minutes (n = 26; 43.3%o)" and the results of the questionnaire patients are not willing to repeat the action bronchoscopy with premedication using diazepam ( n : 24; I 3 .3 9/o). midazolam (n: 23: 48.9%), There is nn difference between the two premedication performed both premedication and comfort level is stili not good. Conclusions: There is no difference in using premedication with dinzepam IM compared with midazolam in IM.
