dc.description.abstract | This objective of to find out information about the stigma form of society to HIV /
AIDS sufferers and can know the reason of the community in giving stigma and
discrimination against people with HIV / AIDS. ODHA refers to people with HIV and AIDS,
ODHA is used as a substitute for the term for someone who was tested positive for HIV /
AIDS.People see people living with HIV / AIDS (ODHA) as someone who suffers from a
deadly, disgusting, deviating disease from religious norms and community norms and
negative stigma tends to be attached to ODHA.
The method used in this research is qualitative method with descriptive study
approach. Technique collection technique is done through data analysis from informants by
doing direct observation and in-depth interviews by way of face to face interviews between
interviewers with informants by using interview guidelines. As for the informants in this
study is the Companion or Housekeeper, HIV / AIDS patients and the local community.
The results of this study indicate that there is stigma and discrimination experienced
by people living with HIV from the community such as instrumental stigma and stigma
decency. Where the instrumental stigma is a reflection of fear over matters relating to deadly
and contagious diseases and the stigma of modesty is social punishment of people associated
with the issue of HIV / AIDS or people positif HIV / AIDS as shunned, considered
disgusting, expelled from the environment. The community gives the stigma because people
are afraid of contracting HIV / AIDS diseases and. In this case GBKP plays a role in the
fulfillment of healthy nutrition, mentoring, empowerment, service character and pastoral
