dc.description.abstract | Religious diversity is a reality that can not be separated from the life of
Indonesian society in general and Tigabinanga Village in particular. Relations
among religious followers who are harmonious encourage researchers to examine
how Muslims and Christians are able to create harmony in everyday life. This
research is expected to be useful both theoretically and practically.
This research is a qualitative descriptive research that makes individual as
research subject. The research informant is determined by purposive procedure.
Data were collected by using three methods: semi structured interview,
observation and documentation. Interpretation of data is done in stages starting
from data collection, data reduction until the conclusions and recommendations of
research are obtained.
Harmony between Christians and Muslims continues to this day. The
Tigabinanga Urban community is engaged in relationships with people of
different faiths intertwined from interactions in daily life and shared activities.
Several factors support the religious harmony in Tigabinanga Village, namely the
strong influence of Karo customs, the social adaptation of migrant communities,
the tolerance of fellow believers and the rapid response of the government
apparatus to issues developing outside the Tigabinanga sub-district. Karo's
customs are big in maintaining harmony among religious people. The diversity of
the Tigabinanga Village community is also seen from the ethnic background. The
social adaptation of immigrant communities with their culture and everyday life
makes the harmony of religious people to occur in all areas of society. The
tolerance of fellow believers takes place in everyday life. The local government's
response to gathering all religious leaders to discuss sensitive issues emerging
outside the region also shows the government's share in maintaining the harmony
of religious relations. | en_US |
