    Abstract
Background : Skin tag is a benign twnor of tle skin with papules, filiform or pednrrculated clinical featrre, often arises in the flextue area- Etiology of skin tag is still rmclear, but one of the etiology is associated with impaired glucose metabolism. Currently FIbAlc is often used as an laboratory examination on individual with impaired glucose metabolism. Increased levels of HbAlc are expected occuring in patients with skin tag. Objtctive : to determine the association between irrcrtased levels of llbAlc with the occurrence of skin tag. Methods : This study is an analytic study with cross sectional design involving 32 subjects with shz tag arfi 32 controls. Diagrosis of sdn tag was made based on history and clinical examination, furthermore subjects performed blood sample examination for [IbAlc level. Tbe collected data then processed ard anatyzed statistically with Mann Whitney test 1o examine the association between tlbAl c levels with the occurrence of skin tag. We used Mann Whitrey test to examine the association between HbAlc levels with number and location of skin tag, and we used Kruskal Wallis test to examine the association between HbAlc levels with type of skh tag. Results : In this study, we found association between increased levels of HbAlc with the occunenc€ of skin tag ( p < 005), but we didn't find association between HbAlc levels with the number ( p > 0,05) , type (p > 0,05) and location of skin tag (p > 0,05). Conclusios : There was ao association between irrcreased levels of HbAlc vrith the occurrence of skin tag, but there is no association between increased level of IIbAlc levels with the number, type, and location of skin tag.
