Objective: To analyze corneal thickness in patients with Primary Open Angle
Glaucoma who received medical treatment.
Methods: The research is analytic observational with cross sectional data
collection method. The research subjects were patients with primary open-angle
glaucoma who had received medical treatment for more than 6 months who came
to the University of North Sumatera Hospital and network. Corneal thickness
measurements were performed on 60 people using OCT Optovue.
Results: In 60 people, the average age characteristic data was 54.60 ± 10.021
years, where the subject was 55.0% female and 45.0% male. It was found that the
study subjects with the highest number of treatments used multitherapy, the most
type of treatment with beta blockers and prostaglandin analogues and the average
duration of treatment was 21.97 ± 13.062 months. A significant difference was
found between superior paracentral and superonasal corneal thickness in the study
subjects.
Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between the type, amount, and
duration of treatment on certain corneal thicknesses.
