Pengaruh Ekstrak Metanol Biji Pare (Momordica charantia L.) dan Depo Medroksi Progesteron Asetat Terhadap Kadar Gula Darah, Libido dan Jumlah Anak Tikus Putih Jantan Putih

Abstract

The extract methanol of seed bitter melon (Momordica charantia L.) combined with Depot Medroxy Progesterone Acetate (DMP A) is one alternative to the expected safe and reversible male contraceptive agent. This study aims to determine the phytochemicals methanol of seed extract of bitter melon (Momordica charantia L.) determine the effect of bitter melon seed extract combined with DMP A on blood sugar levels, libido and number of children. This research using 30 male rats and 30 female rats, which divided into 5 groups of 5 control and treatment groups. The control group was injected as aquadestilata 0.1ml and 0.5ml distilled water as much as force. The treatment group injected DMPA as 1,25mg/tail at the early stage of treatment and force methanol seed extract of bitter melon as much as 50mg I 1 00g of body weight. Control and treatment groups treated for 16 consecutive weeks (for 0, 4, 8 weeks was force + 12 and 16 weeks recovery period). Results of the study analyzed using ANOVA test and t test bootstrapping Independent. The result of phytochemical screening methanol extract of bitter melon seed containing of triterpenoid, steroid, alkaloid and saponin. Based on the results of statistical analysis showed the control and treatment groups was not significant (P> 0. 05) on blood sugar levels and libido. Number of children (F 1) in the study group vs control treatment there is a real impact in reducing the number of children (P <0. 05), which is at weeks 4, 8, 12.
