dc.description.abstract | Inflammation is a local protective response caused by injury or damage to tissue that serves to destroy, reduce, or localize (sekuster) both the injuring agent and the damaged tissue. Andaliman fruit is believed to have anti-inflammatory activity. Several bioactive compounds present in andaliman extract have been identified including alkaloids, flavonoids, triterpenoids, steroids, tanin and saponins. The purpose of this study was to determine the anti-inflammatory activity of andaliman fruit nanoherbs and their effect on the number and type of white blood profile. Anti-inflammatory activity test used two methods, paw edema is to observe the ability nanoherbal of andaliman to block edema volume used plethysmometer, and calculate leucocytes by method hematology analyzer. Anti-inflammatory activity test carried out on animals divided into 5 groups with each 5 rats respectively. Doses of suspension nanoherbal are 125 mg/kgBW, 150 mg/kgBW and 175 mg/kgBW. The negative control group normal and the positive control diclofenac sodium 2.25 mg/kgBW. The results of the inflammatory activity nanoherbal andaliman fruit (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.) at doses of 125 mg/kgBW, 150 mg/kgBW, 175 mg/kgBW was significantly different from the negative control group, but not significantly different from the positive control diclofenac sodium 2.25 mg/kgBB. Nanoherbal dose of 150 mg/kgBW showed a better anti-inflammatory effect than other doses which were almost close to positive control, with inflammation percentage of 10.46% and inflammation inhibition percentage of 77.59% at 6 hours. Andaliman fruit nanoherbs decreased the total number of rat leukocytes and affected the leukocyte type count in rats, especially neutrophils, lymphocytes, and monocytes, but the nanoherbs were still able to maintain normal blood counts. | en_US |
