Dampak Jejaring Indomaret terhadap Kondisi Sosial Ekonomi Pedagang Eceran (Studi Korelasi di Kelurahan Padang Bulan, Kota Medan)

Abstract

Reality of Indomaret retail growth as progression in which first focused on the big cities, now has penetrated into various areas such as in the village of Padang Bulan. Massive expansion of modern market to various areas have small merchant market exposes the harsh open competition. Currently, Indomaret retailer network has been repulsed retailers. Networking system is what makes the modern retailer back benefit in terms of price. Networks built between suppliers with the Indomaret can simplify and increase profits for Indomaret, but on the other hand can lead to social unrest for a large number of retailers. Therefore, researchers wanted to investigate further about the "Impact of Indomaret Network Against Retailer Socio-Economic Conditions in the village of Padang Bulan, Medan. This study aims to determine the impact on the Indomaret Network and Socio-Economic Conditions Retail Merchants in the village of Padang Bulan, Medan. This research used correlation study with a quantitative approach, namely testing Rho Spearman's Rank Order Correlation with the help of the SPSS version 21. The study was conducted on 40 samples of retail traders in the village of Padang Bulan. But to know and elaborate comprehensive data related to the development of Indomaret networking, the researchers also conducted interviews with various parties, such as the Coordinator Officer PT Indomarco Prismatama Distribution Center Medan, Head Indomaret Stores, Shop Assistant Chief Indomaret, Staff Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) of Medan, Academician of Economics, University of North Sumatera, Staff Department of Industry and Trade of Medan, Head of Legal Medan Regional Secretariat of Administration and Head of Integrated Licensing Service Agency (BPPT). The data collection tool was done by direct observation and interviews as well as through questionnaires. The results showed the penetration of capitalism even managed to change the Medan Mayor Regulation No. 20 of 2011 by deleting the zoning in establishing Indomaret. This means a great opportunity for Indomaret in developing business. Indomaret networking system expanding it caused the collapse of a large number of retailers. This is evidenced from the correlation coefficient (rs) generated at -0.336. Negative correlations indicate the opposite direction, meaning that if the network Indomaret expanding or multiplying the socio-economic conditions retailers lower. In this case it appears that the correlation coefficient of -0.336 is at the level of relations "low but surely". That is slowly networking Indomaret certainly cause bankruptcy for retailers, it is marked by the reduction in the number of consumers who shop at stalls which resulted in reduced levels of revenues retailers.
