    Abstract
    This thesis entitles "Analisis Kontrastif Penggunaan Makna Berlawanan Pada Kata Sambung Bahasa Indonesia dan Setsuzokushi Bahasa Jepang ". This research talks· about the contrastive analysis of usage the conjunction in Indonesian and Japanese languages (setsuzokushi). The contrastive analysis of usage the conjunction in Indonesian and Japanese language that covers setsuzokushi "keredomo, daga, desuga, shikashi nagara, and tokoroga" all these are similar to the conjunction "tetapi" in Indonesian language, where the positions can be in front and in the middle of a sentence, but they are different either in the usage, writing or the functions. The theory used for this thesis culioli with descriptive and contrastive analysis methods. After being analyzed, found the similarities and the differences such as the position placements, the writings and the functions of setsuzokushi in the Japanese language depend on the sentences interest expressed. In setsuzokushi, ga, tokoroga,can be used at the end of a sentence. These conjunctions can also be used at the end of a sentence. This conjunction can also be used to end a sentence as a way to express expectations or wishes of speaker. In Japanese language as well,Setsuzokushi,shikashi, keredomo, ga, tokoroga have different usages in a sentence . Setsuzokushi is used in writing, conversation, ordinary text, science text, and the expressions of the speakers emotion. Biside that setsuzokushi is olso used in the formal an informal situation.
