dc.description.abstractHave been done research with the title of Study of Plankton Diversity in the Upper Course of Asahan River Porsea. This Research is done with the method of Purpossive Random Sampling that is determine 5 research station of pursuant to difference of society activity that goes on at the drainage basin. Intake Sampel by 3 restating times rill each research station. This research target is to see the diversity of plankton and the correlation between chemical physical factor with the plankton diversity. From result identify obtained 5 class fitoplankton which pertained in 20 set of family and 36 genus and also 7 class zooplankton which included in 11 set of family and 15 genus. Total highest abundance is obtained at station 2 that is 9551.020 ind / L while the lowest total abundance at station 4 that is 2448.980 ind / L. The highest diversity index are at station 1 that is 3.2015 while the lowest are at station 4 that is 2.570. Highest similarity index there are at station 1 that is 0.9714 while the lowest of similarity index there are at station 3 that is 0.8627. From result of correlation analysis known that the relation between variety index and chemical physical factor value range from very strong ( real correlation ), strong and very low.en_US
