dc.description.abstract | A study on structure and composition of trees and belta vegetations at upper mountain
zone in Sinabung Mountain Karo Regency were conducted in Mei 2007 to February
2008. Sampling area was settled by using purpossive random sampling method, and
devided to five locations based on their altitude. Location I was at 1900 – 2000 m asl,
location II was 2000 – 2100 m asl, location III was 2100 – 2200 m asl, and location IV
was 2200 – 2250 m asl. Observation area size was 0,52 Ha for tree vegetation sample
and 0,13 Ha for belta vegetation sample. Tree vegetations were observed in 15 plots in
location I – III and 7 plots in area IV with the plot size of 10 x 10 m, while the belta
with the plot 5 x 5 m in size. The result showed that there were 61 tree speciesses of
24 families, and the belta were 69 speciesses of 24 families. Tree vegetation was
dominated by Theaceae, Podocarpaceae and Ericaceae, while the belta was dominated
by Myrsinaceae, Araliaceae, Theaceae and Ericaceae. The highest important value of
trees spesies was Dacrydium gibbsiae found in location II with the value of 96,779%,
and belta species was Adinandra dimosa found in location III with the value of
49,24%. | en_US |
