The combination of water extracted of papaya seed and Testosterone Undecanoate
(TU) may induce reducing quantity and quality of spermatozoa. The compound in
extracted of papaya seed may generate oxidative stress as its indication of existing
free radical. Vitamin E is capable to scavenger free radical in its function as
antioxidant, it neutralize free radical and inhabiting lipid peroxide. The research on the
effect of vitamin E in recovering of spermatozoa mice (Mus musculus L.) with its
water extracted of papaya seed (Carica papaya L.) and TU was done aiming to
determine the effect of presenting vitamin E for recovering mice of spermatozoa,
following given extract of papaya seed and TU. The subject of study are ripen mice
spermatozoa (Mus musculus L.) of adult fertile (3 months old) with body weight 25-35
grams, about 70 pieces classified into 7 groups in treatment of each comprising
control 35 mice. The mice of group comprising control 35 pieces and treatment 35
pieces of mice. The long of presenting extracted papaya seed was 24 weeks that
presented every day and TU with interval 6 weeks starting week 0 (P0) through 24
(P4). Then continued with presenting vitamin E for mice of week 24th (P4), 30 (P5)
and 36 (P6) about 8iu/0,2 ml/ mice orally. Examinations of quantity and quality of
spermatozoa was conducted by using improved Neubaeur and in examination of
spermatozoa morfologi using giemsa coloring. The data was analyzed by using SPSS
release 13, non parametric later continued with T test. The result of test indicated that
any treatment by presenting vitamin E on mice (Mus musculus L.) that has got
combination of water extracted papaya seed and TU capable to maintain and recorver
its quantity, motility, viability and morphology of spermatozoa, so concluded the
vitamin E is capable to recorver its quantity and quality of spermatozoa.
