dc.description.abstract | Each fish farming activity has obstacles that can cause a reduction in production.
The main causes of failure in farming fish’s production are disease and parasites
in fish. The research based on identification and prevalence of parasites on the
gills and digestive tract (gut) of giant gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy) was done
in Balai Karantina Ikan, Pengendalian Mutu, dan Keamanan Hasil Perikanan
Kelas I Medan I bagian Parasitologi Desa Aras Kabu, Kecamatan Beringin, Deli
Serdang, Sumatera Utara. The research started in july 2014 through the month of
September 2014. The research aims to look at the type of parasites that found in
gills and digestive tract of giant gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy) by identifying
and calculating the rate of prevalence of parasites that were found. The research
was conducted by taking 10 samples of giant gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy)
that was initiated by decerebrospinal at the head of the fish, then gills organs and
the digestive tract (gut) were taken for the identification process. Organ gills and
digestive tract (gut) were placed into petridish containing physiological saline
0,85% and identificated by using a microscope. The result shown that in the
organs of giant gouramy gills (Osphronemus gouramy) were found parasites
Dactylogyrus sp. and with prevalence of 10% in gills organs classified as often
category and in the organs of the digestive tract (gut) were found parasites
Camallanus sp. of 30% with the prevalence classified as commonly. | en_US |
