dc.description.abstract | Chitinolytic bacteria Bacillus sp. BK17 has been known to inhibit the
growth of Fusarium oxysporum on chili seeds. Bacterial cell viability is an
important factor in using the cell for biological control. This study was aimed to
evaluate viability of chitinolytic bacteria Bacillus sp. BK17 and its potential in
tablet formulation as a biological control against F. oxysporum. Viability of
Bacillus sp. BK17 cell was reduced in 40 days of storage. Bacillus sp. BK17 in
tablet formulation was able to control Fusarium wilt on chili seeds by 63,65% of 0
day stored and 28,57% by 15 days stored, respectively. In addition, Bacillus sp.
BK17 in tablet formulation increased height and biomass on chili seeds. | en_US |
