Research on densities of bilih fish (Mystacoleucus padangensis Blkr.) and growth
patterns in the waters of Lake Toba Haranggaol had been carried out in December 2014
to January 2015. The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of growth and
determine the density of bilih fish (Mystacoleucus padangensis) in each station based on
the difference of activity in the waters of Lake Toba Haranggaol. Sampling was
conducted using "purposive sampling" method at four locations based on community
activities such as Cage Aquaculture, Pier, Tourism and Free Activities. Fish was taken
using doton with a size of 25 x 2 m. The results obtained showed bilih fish
(Mystacoleucus padangensis) with the highest population density value was found in
floating cages station with a value of 2.37 ind / m2 and the lowest on the dock station with
a value of 1.44 ind / m2
. Gonad maturity level (TKG) IV differed at each station. Stations
1 and 4 obtained TKG IV and stations 2 and 3 obtained TKG I, II, and IV. The value of
light penetration, TSS, COD, ammonia, and phosphate were very strongly
correlated to the density of bilih fish (M. padangensis).
