An experiment in Lake Toba has been conducted to compare the value of diversity of macrozoobenthos in each station based on differences in human activity, physical and chemical parameters of water in relation to macrozoobenthos diversity. The diversity of macrozoobenthos was assessed through “Purposive Sampling” at four locations of activities in the study sites. The result of the study recognized 19 genera of macrozoobenthos belonging to 3 phyla, 5 classes, 7 ordos, and 14 families. Genus Paludestrina had the highest density with 48,76 ind/m² found at station 2, and the lowest density were genus Haemodipsa, with 1,23 ind/m². For the diversity index, the highest was recorded from the first station (1,75) while the lowest was found from the four station (1,40). The highest equability index was 0,92 at the third station and the lowest is found at the first station (0,77). Fhysical parameter pH substrates and level of organic substrates was evidently correlated with the macrozoobenthos diversity.en_US
