Pembuatan Biodiesel dari Minyak Sawit Mentah dengan Metanol Meggunakan Katalis Kalium Hidroksida

Abstract

Biodiesel is a compound of methyl ester that produced from transesterifikation of vegetable oil with alcohol using acid and base catalyst. This research studied about the preparation of methyl ester from Crude Palm Oil with methanol using Kalium Hydroxide catalyst; it was carried out at 60°C and 300 rpm of stirring rate, during one fisicochemical properties of Methyl ester as density 0,98 gr/ml, viscosity 4,09 mm²/s, Acid value 0,14 mg KOH/gr and fatty acid 9,34%. These values were fulfil for biodiesel standard of SNI 14-7182-2006 and ASTM D 6751
