An appropriate supervising competency owned by a ward head can improve
the performance of the nurses serving in the in-patient wards. The phenomenon found
at dr. Djasamen Saragih General. Hospital. in the City of Pematangsiantar is that the
supervising competency of the ward head and the performance of the nurses are not
yet optimal. The purpose of this study with cross-sectional design was to find out the
i,ifluence of supervising competency of the ward head on the performance of the
nurses serving in the in-patient wards of dr. Djasamen Saragih General Hospital in
the City of Pematangsiantar. The samples for this study were all of 86 nurses working
for this hospital.. The data for this study were obtained through questionnaire
distribution and the data obtained were analyzed through multiple linear regression
tests.
The result of this study showed that the variables of educative, supportive and
managerial competencies of ward head had i,if/uence on the performance of the
nurses working for dr. Djasamen Saragih General Hospital in the City of
Pematangsiantar (p < 0.005). The managerial competency of ward head had the
biggest influence with the value of coefficient (B) of 0.407. Overall, the simple
regression model· used is able to predict the influence level of the variable of
supervising competency of ward head on the performance of the nurses working for
dr. Djasamen Saragih General Hospital in the City of Pematangsiantar for 25.9% (R
Square).
As a supervisor in the nursing management practice, ward head is expected to
know the factors needed to be improved such as routine activities and supervision
model that the supervision implementation can be better and lead to the improvement
of the performance of the nurses Kemampuan supervisi kepala ruangan yang dijalankan dengan tepat dapat
meningkatkan kinerja perawat di ruang rawat inap. Fenomena yang ditemukan di
RSUD dr.Djasamen Saragih Kota Pematangsiantar, supervisi kepala ruangan dan
kinerja perawat belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untulc mengetahui pengaruh
kemampuan supervisi kepala ruangan terhadap kinerja perawat di ruang rawat inap
RSUD dr.Djasamen Saragih Kota Pematangsiantar. Penelitian menggunakan
rancangan cross sectional terhadap seluruh perawat pelaksana (86 orang). Data
dikumpulkan dengan kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan uji regresi linear.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel kemampuan edukatif, supportif
dan managerial kepala ruangan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja perawat pelaksana di
RSUD dr.Djasamen Saragih Kota Pematangsiantar (p<0,005). Kemampuan
managerial kepala ruangan berepengaruh paling besar dengan nilai koefisien (B)
0,407. Secara keseluruhan model regresi sederhana yang digunakan mampu
memprediksi besarnya pengaruh variabel kemampuan supervisi kepala ruangan
terhadap kinerja perawat pelakasana di RSUD dr.Djasamen Saragih Kota
Pematangsiantar sebesar 25,9% (R Square).
Diharapkan dalam prak.tek manajeman keperawatan kepala ruangan sebagai .
supervisor mengetahui faktor-faktor apa saja yang perlu ditingkatkan, seperti kegiatan
rutin clan model supervisi sehingga pelaksanaan supervisi akan lebih baik yang
nantinya akan meningkatkan kinerja perawat
