dc.description.abstractThe Assay of Trichoderma spp. and Bacillus spp. to Decompose Empty Fruit Bunch, has been done from September to October 2009 at the Microbiology Laboratory of FMIPA USU. This study was aimed to investigate the ability of Bacillus spp. and Trichoderma spp. to degrade empty fruit bunch. This study used Non Factorial Complete Random Sampling, which were: T0 (Control), T1 (Water only), T2 (Bacillus spp.), T3 (Trichoderma spp.), T4 (Combination Bacillus spp. and Trichoderma spp.). The result showed that Bacillus spp. and Trichoderma spp. had potential to degrade empty fruit bunch. The number of microorganism increased steadly up to week 5 th while from week 6 th to 8 th, the grow of microorganism decreased in all treatments. Statistical test showed that there was no difference among treatments. Combination of Bacillus spp. and Trichoderma spp. Decomposed empty fruit bunch faster than other treatment, with the C/N ratio 10.1 at 8 weeks.en_US
