dc.description.abstract | Pangkalan Susu, Langkat District, North Sumatera”. The objective of this
research would be to know the diversity of macrozoobenthos in Pulau Kampai Waters,
and to know the relationship between psychochemical factors of waters to diversity of
macrozoobenthos. The samples was taken from three station of observation, nine
replications were made in each station. The point of sampling was determined by
using Purposive Random Sampling method. The sampling of benthos was
accomplished by using surber net and the sample was then identified in Management
Laboratory of Natural Science in University of Sumatera Utara , Medan. The result of
research indicated that there were 19 genus of macrozoobenthos consisting of two
filum, Arthropoda and Molusca. The highest density of station I was found in genus of
Cerithidea, 30,86 ind/m2, and the lowest was genus of Scylla, 4,93 ind/m2. The
highest density of macrozoobenthos in station II was found in genus of Littorina 35,
80 ind/m2 and the lowest one was in genus of Scylla and Telescopium, 7,40 ind/m2,
respectively. The highest density of macrozoobenthos in station II was found in genus
of Littorina, 18,51 ind/m2, and the lowest one was in genus of Anadara and Murex,
6,17 ind/m2, respectively. The highest diversity index (H’) of macrozoobenthos was
found in station I, 2,334, and the lowest one was found in station III, 2,126. The
highest uniforrmity index (E) was found in station III, 0,967, and the lowest one was
in station I, 0,939. The result of correlation analysis with Pearson-test indicated that
temperature, salinity, penetration, pH, DO, BOD, oxygen saturation, and TDS, have a
very strong correlation to diversity index (H’) of macrozoobenthos | en_US |
