Penentuan Kadar Air dan Kotoran Minyak Sawit Mentah (CPO) pada Tangki Penyimpanan di Pabrik Kelapa Sawit PTPN.IV Kebun Adolina

Abstract

PTPN.IV of Adolina estate is a factory to process the palm oil from fresh bunch until crude palm oil . In the processing , it is intended to get good quality palm oil and high value of selling . The important quality standard to determinate good palm oil . One of the factors to effect the quality is content of water and impurity . The water content is analyzed with thermogravimetry method and the content of impurity by settling method , centrifugation or filtering by using the adsorbent . The result of average water content is 0.869% and impurity is 0.0177% . The quality of palm oil in Continous Settling Tank (CST) is analyzed in laboratory , the water content suitable to standard (0.6-0.8%) and content of impurity suitable to standard (0.02-0.04%) . From the result of this experiment , it is gained that content of water and impurity in Continous Settling Tank (CST) is still in quality standard set by the factory and can be marketed .
