First step in the processing of oil palm and kernel oil palm is sterilising process.
Failure in the process will affect the following processes, which may lowers productivity of the palm oil mill. Various factors affecting efficiency of the sterilising process, such as steam’s pressure and the length of the sterilising. Therefore, title of this paper is chosen “The Effect Of The Length Sterilising Process Of Quality CPO To Produce Process Product Of Coconut’s Factory In PTPN III Rambutan”.
In this paper the above factors affecting the loss of CPO in sterilising process will be discussed. It was reported that high pressure resulted in darker colour of the CPO produced, and longer sterilising in caused the loss of CPO into condensate and leupt buches and sterilising triple peak used. From research that is done, it is obtained that maximum pressure is 2,8 kg/cm2,temperature 135oC and timing strelizer 90 minute to yield of good quality,s CPO.
