The study of bird diversity in Telagah Village Gunung Leuser National Park
Kabupaten Langkat Sumatera Utara has been conducted from February until
march 2015. This research aimed to know diversity of bird in this area. Study site
was settled using “Purposive Random Sampling” and observed using interview
method, record the bird sound and Point Count Method. There are eighty two
species of birds were found, which were included in 9 Ordo and 28 family. At
location 1 (Forest border) were found 35 species of birds with density value (D) =
78,33 ind/ha, location 2 (TNGL) were found 38 species of birds with D =
82,92ind/ha and location 3 (Agroforestry) were found 41 species of birds with D =
184,99 ind/ha. The diversity index was categorized high index, for location 1 is
3,16 , location 2 = 3,25 and location 3 = 3,29. The Equitability index in location 1,
2 and 3 is 0,89. The highest similarity index was found between location 1 and 2 =
35,61% and the lowest is location 1 and 3 = 34,21%.
